A deer walked into a shop in Colorado, the owner gave her a peanut bar and about 30 minutes later she came back with her whole family, with the kids waiting outside!

Deer probably like, "Every time i come here, they are giving food for free, i'm telling you guys. You don't trust me? I will show y'all"

It's cute but a bad idea. The food isn't as good for them as what they would forage for and eat naturally. Also if you're in a hunting area the deer will walk right up to a guy with a rifle.

In 1995, 14wolves were reintroduced into Yellowstone National Park by U.S. & Canadian wildlife officials. This reintroduction had a profound and unexpected impact on the park's ecosystem. Wolves helped rebalance the populations of elk and deer the park. Before the wolves' return, elk populations had become artificially high due to the absence of predators. This led to overgrazing and negatively impacted the park's vegetation. With the presence of wolves, elk populations were kept in check as they became more vigilant and moved away from certain areas, particularly enabling tree species like willow and aspen to grow. This reduced the pressure on vegetation and allowed for the recovery of these plant species. The recovery of willow and aspen stands in Yellowstone was a significant outcome of the wolf reintroduction. Willow stands, in particular, had suffered due to intense elk browsing. However, with the wolves' presence, elk were forced to move more frequently, preventing them from heavily browsing on willow and allowing the stands to recover. The recovery of vegetation had cascading effects on the ecosystem. The return of healthy willow stands provided habitat for various species, including beavers, songbirds, and other wildlife. This, in turn, contributed to the overall biodiversity and ecological health of the park. The reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone triggered a trophic cascade, which refers to the indirect effects that predators have on the entire food web. The presence of wolves led to changes in the behavior and distribution of prey species, such as elk. As elk populations were kept in check by wolves, their browsing and trampling impacts on vegetation decreased. This allowed other species, such as beavers, to thrive and create new habitats. The trophic cascade also affected smaller species like beetles and larger predators like lynx and wolverines. The reintroduction of wolves had a positive impact on the overall health and functioning of the Yellowstone ecosystem. It helped restore natural balance and allowed for the recovery of various species and habitats. The presence of wolves also influenced the distribution of carrion, benefiting scavengers like ravens, eagles, magpies, coyotes, and bears. This created a more equitable distribution of food resources throughout the winter and early spring. Love stories like this? Visit my blog for interesting stories:
