The deficit. SO simple even a unionist can understand it.

Once again, Westminster/England-as-Britain proven as a lying shower of reprehensible bastards. Makes you want to kick them the hell right out of Scotland, doesn’t it? Let’s go, Scotland, let’s go!

Good video. GERS: Gerrymandered English Revenue for Scotland. GERW: Gerrymandered English Revenue for Wales. Both reports compiled with figures from Whitehall with no documentation to back up the figures. Would be nice to see the GERE but of course they don't produce one.

OK, so here’s the simple way of showing that’s bollocks. 1 England does publish it’s own deficit figures. 2 Just because England is in deficit doesn’t mean that it can’t subsidise Scotland Wales and NI. This is because their deficit per capita is LOWER than that of the UK.

Who do you think gets the revenue from the North sea oil? It's Scottish and England takes it. Whisky....very Scottish England takes the VAT from every sale.

And the duty which is a lot more than the VAT

So if not Westminster.. who is subsidising the £23bn deficit in Scotland or are you going to present an alternative set of figures to GERs.. real figures that is, not the made up hypothetical nonsense you like to spout 🙄

Piss off ya feckin nutter

Devolved governments such as Wales are a strength not a weakness. It shines a akward light on history and the hideous power instilled through abuse of parliamentary power. Customary rights form part of our constitutions and we should embrace that powerful history. What are some of Wales oldest codified laws or documented Customs that you are proud of?

Too stupid to even qualify as a moron.

Doesn't make sense mate. Try again.

Westminster is a United Kingdom Parliament, there is no Parliament for England. I voted for my Welsh MP to represent my constituency in the U.K. Parliament (btw something I will not be able to do in the ‘26 Senedd elections) However, the better way of looking at this is spending per head. Spending per Head (2023-24) England £12,625 Scotland £14,759 Wales £14,424 Northern Ireland £15,371 Source: HM Treasury, Country and Regional Analysis: November 2024. Wales would need some serious economic restructuring and demographic changes to have a viable, vibrant, independent economy.

Dave, I can only comment on Scotland, we raise £81 Billion, but spend £112 Billion....

Correct. Further, Whitehall borrows on Wales and Scotlands credit, and does not give the proceeds of that borrowing to those countries, and instead keeps it for itself.

@grok Does Wales get more from the UK Government than it pays in taxes?

@Indynow6 The City of London distorts these figures, take London out of the calculation or evenly distribute its GDP UK wide, then we see that rEnglands deficit is greater than Scotland Wales or NI

You need to break it down further into regions. London & South East subsidises the rest of England and the UK

If our share of the overall UK deficit is allocated per capita but our deficit per capita is higher it's the definition of a fiscal transfer. To put it simply. Say the overall deficit is £100bn, but X accounts for £25bn of it with 8% of the population. Then they are subsidised.

👏

Ah - how simple tax revenue & government spending really is - who knew - and why do we bother with Economic models and all that stuff?

So your video explains why the UK is in so much debt - that’s all. But it also says that debt per person is vastly higher in 🏴, 🏴 and NI than in 🏴. What is your plan to cut the debt level in Indy Wales because people still need pensions, welfare, education and health.

The independence cult members won't believe you

@CymruLuke

All this video explains is how much the UK is in debt. The rest of what your jabbering on about is absolute nonsense. Wales does not have enough tax revenue coming to cover what it has going out.

As there is 10x more people in England than the rest of the UK, then yes you are subsidised more per capita than English people.
