When she asked Young about the reason, the policeman said that she was accused of stealing from the store, and Young’s voice appeared in the video as she said, “I did not steal anything.” At this moment, another policeman walks in front of the car and shouts, “Get out of the car,” and in the video clip, Young’s voice appears as she asks, “Are you going to shoot me?” While the policeman was in front of Young's car, drawing his gun, Young was seen turning the steering wheel to the right. The car began to move slowly, so the policeman shot through the windshield of the car, killing Young. Young was pregnant when she died, and her baby girl did not survive either. Blendon Police Chief John Belford issued a statement with the video detailing steps the department has taken since the fatal shooting, including asking the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation to investigate the incident.
