That is indeed a great rendition, but I will also nominate the version written by the poet Philip S. Bryant in The Promised Land, p. 99. Copyright by him, reproduced without permission but hope of forgiveness.

It's great, though from a different perspective. Mohr is prescriptive whereas Bryant is descriptive.

They're companion pieces, Bryant's should be read first, then Mohr tells you how to do it.

@tpt Great idea and pretty well done. I do feel like part of the absurdity is missed, though, when the hosts are saying “stay the night” and “you don’t need to leave.” The weird thing w the goodbyes is everyone is *actually trying* to leave but somehow can’t make it happen.
