The Democrat Shutdown will continue until one of two things happens: 1️⃣ Chuck Schumer gets permission from Bernie Sanders, AOC, and his radical base to reopen it. Or… 2️⃣ Five reasonable Senate Democrats decide to do the RIGHT THING and vote with Senate Republicans on the House passed CLEAN...

“We just need five Democrats.” Bro, you couldn’t even get five Republicans to elect a Speaker without divine intervention.

It is the Majority party in Congress that controls the legislative agenda and can refuse to bring funding bills to a vote. It's a Republican shutdown.

This isn’t about “Chuck Schumer’s permission slip” or “radical bases.” It’s about whether elected officials think American healthcare is a bargaining chip. You’re pretending Democrats are the obstructionists while conveniently skipping the part where your own caucus is refusing to guarantee protections for the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid, and drug price caps. That’s the entire dispute. Not Big Bird funding. Not immigration spin. Healthcare. Here’s the truth you won’t say on Fox: It doesn’t take five Senate Democrats to reopen the government. It takes 13 Senate Republicans and 5 House Republicans to vote with Democrats on a clean bill that protects healthcare and restores funding. That’s it. Thirteen and five. The votes exist; the spine is what’s missing. So if you’re reading this and you’re tired of being used as political leverage for someone else’s talking points, stop waiting on their theatrics. Call the Capitol switchboard: 202-224-3121. Say this, calmly and clearly: “I want the government reopened with a bill that protects healthcare. Thirteen Senate Republicans and five House Republicans can make it happen today.” That’s not partisan. That’s leverage. Use it.

Dems. are doing what they were elected to do, protect their constituents. That's the difference between Dems. and GOP. Republicans actions only protect one person, not their constituents.

Speaker Johnson nails it. The shutdown drags on because Democrats prioritize radical demands over reopening the government. Their refusal to pass the House’s CLEAN CR—which funds operations without sneaking in benefits for illegal immigrants—proves they’d rather weaponize bureaucracy than govern. Schumer’s caucus blocks every GOP bill (10 times and counting) while pushing healthcare expansions that blur legal status lines. It’s not about “clean” funding—it’s about normalizing handouts for those who broke immigration laws. Five Senate Democrats could end this tomorrow by siding with common sense. But until then, taxpayers foot the bill for D.C.’s performative gridlock.

Dems are doing what the American people WANT ... Republicans are putting their billionaire donors over Americans & stripping life-saving healthcare & vital gov't services from millions of everyday Americans to give TRILLIONS in tax cuts to elitists who don't even need them. 🤮

Moses Mike - wait till November 1st and your constituents see their healthcare premiums skyrocket because you want to end the Obamacare subsidies. You, Trump and the GOP are going to be so screwed! The Dems are fighting to keep healthcare for millions of Americans!

We don't care if it ever reopens. The only problem is senators and reps get paid during a shutdown, but the military doesn't..... That needs to change.

No one is impressed by Republicans refusing to sit down and figure out a bipartisan solution to the healthcare crisis, especially when Republicans can choose to allow appropriations to be passed by a simple majority whenever they want. Republicans are CHOOSING to have this shutdown. You're not winning any political points by being this pathetic, only showing the nation you are too inept to lead.

This is a republican shutdown and a majority of Americans damn well know it. Republicans want to take Healthcare away from millions of americans. Democrats refuse to let them do it. It's that simple.

The party that weaponized shutdowns now peddles reverse accountability theater. Watch MAGA architects blame arson victims for the blaze they ignited with gasoline legislation. Trump's admin furloughed 900K workers while cutting checks to ICE/CBP agents - until courts halted their "ready, fire, aim" layoffs. Yet Speaker Johnson vacations until 10/19 as 1.6M families ration meds. Trump calls ACA subsidies "crazy" while Schumer's had zero negotiation offers since 10/6. This isn't governance - it's hostage-taking. A shutdown manufactured by those who despise government.

Or, we change the Senate rules to eliminate the filibuster. When you are dealing with radical leftists with whom you share no common ground, it is time to get rid of the filibuster.

Mikey, that’s not how government works. You’re claiming a “Democrat Shutdown”, but the facts show that it was House Republicans who withheld funding and tried to attach extreme policy demands, not Democrats refusing to reopen the government. You want Senate Democrats like Schumer to get permission from Bernie Sanders, AOC, or “radical left” voices before reopening? That’s a straw man argument. Schumer and Senate Democrats have repeatedly said they’ll pass a clean continuing resolution (CR), but Republicans in the House refuse to pass one. And “five reasonable Senate Democrats” voting with Republicans? That’s just political theatrics. If there were a clean CR, many Senate Democrats would support it, the issue is the House bill Republicans insist on sending over. If you really want to sort this out, let’s look at the timeline, who blocked what, and which provisions are being fought over. Do you want me to walk you through that, again?

Or 3⃣ ReTrumplicans can just say NO to trump, who wanted this shutdown, and get back to NEGOTIATING, that's the ONLY way. Find a way to protect the healthcare of millions of Americans. Forget that bullshit about 'Illegals' getting healthcare.

Pass 12 individual appropriations bills as required by law, with full debate, and send them to the Senate. I'm fine with the government staying shut down. Americans must learn to live without the nanny and warfare states. If you agree, please repost. I want to follow you.

Everyone reading this: there's been zero negotiation. Not one meeting. It's Trump's way or the highway. Any Republican standing there blaming Democrats? That's exactly what they have been told do- LIE. No compromise, no discussion, just do it his way or nothing. That my friends is their way of taking from the most vulnerable and not caring one iota.

Nobody believes your bullshit anymore. Trump and the GOP own this shutdown. Try negotiating for once in your life. You’re the most useless Speaker ever. Try showing us your pages and pages and pages of health care reform. Sounds like concepts of an idea. Dolt.
