I think that also comes across from @simonmontefiore books, that Stalin wasn't insane. He had a good grasp of reality...he was just a psychopath. Weirdly, he thought that he could trust Hitler though.

What I think is the difference, Stalin wanted the booze out of the pictures so everyone didn't think they were drunk when they hashed this out. Depressant reasonable. Hitler wanted the cigarettes out. Smoking was the norm.
