The reality is, Oscar first got DRS on max on lap 5, and overtook him on lap 14. Lando first got DRS on lap 14 and overtook on lap 18. Oscar did very well in clean air. But let’s not pretend he cleared Max easy and didn’t make “half hearted” attempts because he did. 👌

i would argue that had Lando lost 2.5 seconds Oscar still would have won as he was using LICO during most of his time leading the race from the 9 second lead he originally had while Lando pushed the car to its full potential.

oscar was overtaking him for p1 and lando for p2 LMAO he had the dirty air of oscar and also recovered from p6 so you can't really compare it here

Piastri had free air to race into though. Norris doesn't lose more time by trying to overtake than by just staying behind, that makes absolutely no sense. He'd still be right behind verstappen either way

To be fair, two very different situations. For Oscar, it was a fight for the lead, for Lando it was the fight before the actual fight. Oscar had to get a move on once Norris closed up, that's when he really tried. And 2.5 seconds is not right, the difference was mclaren+clean air
