That’s a well articulated point about tolerance that those on the left need to learn. Tolerance doesn’t mean I have to like or respect you, in fact it explicitly doesn’t. The need to be affirmed is childish and insecure.

That’s a fair assessment; to be clear, it’s only a small minority of the ultra-orthodox in Israel who have outward distain towards their Christian neighbors; most are friendly or very civil. And still, they are tolerant, especially as long as they’re not looking to convert Jews.

Most ultra Orthodox Jews in Israel aren’t “tolerant” of Christians, they just don’t care or think about them. The Christians that stand on the street preaching, everyone in Israel (secular, atheist, and religious) “tolerate” them.

I don’t think people understand how much Jews in Israel don’t care…Ultra Orthodox don’t care about Christians or non Jews,most Israelis never met or interacted with any Christians(I only interacted because as kid I worked in Hotel and met tourists)let alone Ultra Orthodox.
