your model shouldn't be so limited without acting though... vtubers need to start speaking up and understanding this. You do not need to act when the rigging is expressive enough

There's a sweet spot for everyone and it will also depend on how they model is rigged. Sometimes it's cute, sometimes it's distracting. Personally I find her tail flooping around like crazy to be too much

I think your rigger scammed you

This is true however for you also need to research your riggers when commissioning your models because you could get a model that loses tracking very easily when trying to puppet your model. Make sure you’re getting your moneys worth and not cutting corners or it won’t matter.

does this get tiring to do all stream? also, I'd imagine this stays in your muscle memory but I wonder if you move like that naturally at some point when talking to people in person

is it weird to say i prefer the 'no puppeting' one? the one on the left just feels kinda distracting if i'm watching a streamer just them chatting is enough they don't need to have their model do all these crazy movements to keep my attention but well just my opinion.

ahh pretty :c i try puppeting with my models and it doesnt have the same expressiveness everyone elses does :c i probably have to just keep messing with settings but pretty!
