New short course: DSPy: Build and Optimize Agentic Apps DSPy is a powerful open-source framework for automatically tuning prompts for GenAI applications. In this course, you'll learn to use DSPy, together with MLflow. This is built in partnership with Databricks and taught by Chen Qian, co-lead of the DSPy framework. Many AI builders spend hours hand-tuning prompts. When given a set of evals, DSPy automates this process. It’s especially useful for optimizing prompts, including few-shot prompts, in complex agentic AI workflows. Further, if you switch an application to a newer LLM, performance can degrade if your prompts were optimized to the previous model. DSPy automatically optimizes the entire system for the new LLM as well, using just a few evaluation examples. This course teaches DSPy works, and best practices for using it. You’ll write programs using DSPy’s signature-based programming model, debug them with MLflow tracing -- to gain visibility into how different parts of a pipeline, as well as how the overall system, are performing -- and automatically improve their accuracy with DSPy Optimizer. That robot knows 3D printing! 🧱 A team of researchers at Imperial College London has developed a method where multiple drones work together to 3D print towers using foam and lightweight cement. The process involves one drone depositing the material while the other checks the accuracy of the structure, with humans monitoring the operation. The team demonstrated the drones' capability to construct structures up to 2.05 meters high and simulated building a tall dome-like structure. The method has the potential to be used in remote locations or for post-disaster reconstruction however, it currently has limitations, such as difficulty carrying heavy loads, the need for regular charging, and human supervision. XPENG’s autonomous parking system is cool. The system is able to generate a 3D Model Interface and actively memorize parking lot structures, and space positions. You are able to save your preferred parking spaces, as well as marking entrances, charging spaces, spacious parking spaces, etc. If the selected parking space is occupied, it will automatically park into an adjacent vacant space. I would love to see Tesla implement something like this one day with FSD. Super useful if you live in an apartment buildings, etc.

The Type 625 MANPADS-based air defense system has been introduced into the Chinese army units. It is equipped with a six-barrel 25mm cannon and four missiles from MANPADS with a firing range of about 5 kilometers. Initially, the vehicle was demonstrated with eight missiles of a longer range. However, the experience of the special military operation in the East is also being studied, and for now, this version of the vehicle is being adopted by the PLA.
