“Bharatha Pradhamar” is acceptable, but “Indhiya Pradhamar” is unacceptable? I don’t understand this logic! Nationalists are raising concerns that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay’s decision to refer to the Central Government as the Indian Government fuels separatist tendencies. As a fellow nationalist, to be honest, I do not see it that way. In fact, I feel the term Indian Government is more compelling, captivating, evocative, and emotionally resonant for patriotic Indians than Central Government or Union Government. The latter terms can sometimes create the impression that the States and the Centre are separate entities, whereas the States are integral parts of India. If “Bharatha Pradhamar” is acceptable, why not “Indhiya Pradhamar”? Perhaps CMOTamilNadu can consider this approach. Instead of saying “The Indian Government,” the Tamil Nadu government could use the phrase “Our Indian Government.” I am sure that would allay some of the concerns and fear expressed about the terminology adopted by the Tamil Nadu government. Agree?

In a shocking display of arrogance and disregard for the people of Tamil Nadu, Modi Govt. Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched a scathing attack on the state, labeling its citizens "𝗨𝗻𝗰𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱." Tuesday was a black day for India. Friday has seen redemption in measures I could not have imagined. For the first time in more than 30 years, a bill introduced by the government has failed to pass in the Lok Sabha. I am glad that it is this bill, which was conceived with malicious intent and without any logic, that has been defeated. Parties that would ordinarily have been convinced of short-term benefits from an increase in seats have upheld oppositon unity to control the dictatorial tendencies of the government. It is a sign that a politics of principles still exists in India, that there is still hope for a brighter future. This is the turning point we have been waiting for. When he launched the election campaign, Chief Minister Thiru M.K.Stalin said “Tamil Nadu shall fight, Tamil Nadu shall win.” Today, I am grateful to say: Tamil Nadu has fought, Tamil Nadu has won. India has fought, India has won. PS: I am glad to be back in a white shirt, as the April heat in Madurai is not conducive to black shirts

Despite innumerable attacks on migrant workers across Tamil Nadu, DMK’s ministers and MPs appear to have learnt absolutely nothing, except how to normalise their hate against migrant workers. DMK MP Smt Kanimozhi Somu claims that 10,000 migrant workers educated in Hindi arrive in Tamil Nadu every day to sell “Ganja” and Pani Puri. There was an India before this Bill. The India that comes after this Bill strikes at the very fabric of our Constitution and the intent of its makers. Today, the government is asking us to hand over a blank cheque. This Bill contains no clear mention of limits such as a 50% increase, no clarity on the basis of delimitation, and no transparent safeguards to prevent arbitrary action. It leaves open the possibility of an unfair, unjust delimitation process and places enormous power in the hands of a committee that will be appointed by the executive itself. How can this be called fair in a functioning democracy? How are we expected to trust a government that, over the past 12 years, has repeatedly pushed through draconian laws without meaningful consultation or consensus in Parliament? Laws that reshape institutions, alter balances of power, and weaken the spirit of federalism! As Chief Minister Thiru M.K.Stalin has rightly said, this is a fight we are prepared to take to the streets and to the people of Tamil Nadu. People have chosen a new leader, and TVK has emerged. The direction is very clear: 108 members have been elected from that party. With the Congress party’s support of five members, the total becomes 113, while the halfway mark is 118. The governor, a former BJP man, is under pressure from the system. It is well known that the BJP’s mindset, and Delhi’s mindset, is not to make Vijay the Chief Minister. Delhi does not want Vijay to be the Chief Minister. We know the governor is delaying the decision. Although the governor is a good man, he is under pressure. BJP has only one MLA in Tamil Nadu, yet even with one MLA, they are ready to play politics. This is very unfortunate. Stopping a government that has been voted in for change and hope is a crime. I feel that Vijay should be invited to form the government quickly and be allowed to face the floor test in the assembly. That is natural justice. Any obstruction by any party against this change and hope will be punished by the people of Tamil Nadu."

Our Hon. CM M.K.Stalin has already given a befitting reply to the blatant lie spoken by Hon. PM Narendra Modi yesterday that DMK stalled the Maduravoyal elevated corridor project. I as Additional Solicitor General of India argued for the National Highways Authority of India on behalf of the Union Government in this dispute, so let me state some facts for the benefit of PM Modi. ➡️Chennai Port–Maduravoyal Elevated Corridor was conceived, sanctioned, and launched during the DMK government in Tamil Nadu in coordination with the UPA Government at the union. ➡️June 2007 - project sanction ➡️March 7, 2008 - Government Order was issued ➡️January 2009 - Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh & Dr. Kalaignar as CM laid the foundation stone. ➡️Work commenced in 2010. Environmental clearance was obtained. ➡️By 2012, nearly 30% of the project had already been completed. Pillars had been erected. Construction was underway. 🚫What stopped it? 🍃In April 2012, after change in Government, AIADMK & J Jayalalithaa stalled the project citing lame concerns. A stop-work order was issued. ⚖️I appeared before the Hon’ble Madras High Court on behalf of NHAI and fought the case to quash the stop work order. In February 2014, the High Court quashed the stop-work order! The AIADMK Government filed an appeal and got a stay before the Hon. Supreme Court. They claimed that entire city of Chennai will be inundated because of the project! After 2014, the NDA government at the centre took no proper steps to get the stay vacated! 👉Only after Selvi J. Jayalithaa passed away on 05.12.2016, barely 4 days later, the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu wrote to the NHAI requesting to resume the project. By then the contractor had sued NHAI for delay, project cost had more than doubled. 🌄It was only after Chief Minister Thiru. M.K. Stalin assumed office in 2021 that a comprehensive redesign was undertaken and life was given to the project again. 🌄On 16 May 2022, an MoU was signed between the Tamil Nadu Government, NHAI, Chennai Port Authority, and the Indian Navy. 🛣️The project was redesigned as a 20.6 km double-decker elevated corridor at a revised cost of ₹5,885 crore. ❌Yesterday, the PM stood before the Tamil people and uttered a baseless lie that DMK stopped this project. 💹The PM should ask his alliance partners AIADMK to bear the loss to the Government and public exchequer – ₹ 4805 crore difference between original project cost of ₹ 1800 cr to current cost of ₹ 5885 cr! There was no one to look after, consider, or even bother about the Tamil labourers when they migrated from an economically poor Tamil Nadu to states like Maharashtra and Delhi 50–60 years ago. They faced organized political humiliation, threats, attacks, and even kxxxlings. But their children, supported by the visionary schemes of our Dravidian leaders, studied, progressed, and built better lives. Today, Tamil Nadu has developed without parallel, and migration from Tamil Nadu for basic labour jobs has become almost zero. Meanwhile, states the failed states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar who lost their wealth to bMns & Bannnyas continue to struggle with poverty and lack of opportunities. Many people still face a lack of education and employment for majority najority Hindus and minorities. The started leaving their homeland and coming to Tamil Nadu for their basic livelyhoods. But now the useless politicians and media making it an issue shamelessly. They expect special or royal treatment (which they failed to give) in Tamil Nadu for their labourers, even though their own states could not provide jobs or livelihoods. What an irony. Meanwhile Tamil Nadu pays them almost triple the salary quality food and shelter. We treat them as one of us. Our ideology did not emerge yesterday. Our ideology, like the RSS' ideology, is thousands of years old. It has been fighting the RSS ideology for thousands of years. We have our symbols. We have Shiva; we have Buddha; we have Guru Nanak; we have Kabir; and we have Mahatma Gandhi. These are all the symbols that have shown the correct path to this country. Please name one symbol of the RSS ideology that is revered in India today. Was Guru Nanak from the RSS ideology? Was Buddha from the RSS ideology? Was Krishna Bhagwan from the RSS ideology? Not a single one. Because every single one of these people fought for equality and brotherhood. The last thing I would like to say is that this building has emerged from the blood of our workers, from every single one of our leaders. That includes all of you, who are today defending the idea of the Congress party. Everybody in this room is under severe assault defending the ideas of the Congress party. Sometimes we forget it. I was asked by USA Today to respond to remarks made by Hasan Piker about Zionism. Piker claimed as follows: “Zionism is the ethnoreligious supremacist ideology that is exterminationist in principle, born out of the wrong assessment that this was a land without people for a people without land. It required the extermination of the indigenous population, and that's precisely what has happened since its inception. And its final iteration of that has been the Gaza genocide that we watched unfold.” You can call a blowtorch an avocado as many times as you want, but it still doesn’t have a seed, and it still isn’t green because it’s still just a blowtorch. The claim that Zionism is an exterminationist ideology is just as nonsensical as calling a blowtorch an avocado. The suggestion that Jews want to exterminate the Arabs who also live on the land is likewise, as it has always been, ludicrous and false. Zionism is a simple idea, which is that Jews have the same rights — not more rights, but also not fewer rights — than every other people on Earth have to sovereignty in their national homeland. So just as you might think that Bulgarians have the right to sovereignty in their homeland, Japanese people, Korean people, German people all have the right to sovereignty in their homeland, Zionism is just the idea that Jews should be treated the same. By the way, this is in the charter, the charter that is the foundation of the state of Israel. In that document, the word ‘extermination,’ of course, would never appear there, but anything that even remotely resembles that word or idea is foreign to any of the early laws or that document. In fact, the document says precisely the opposite. The document says that one of the purposes of the state of Israel is to allow Jews and Arabs alike to live in peace and to flourish together in the land of Israel. That's what the Declaration of Independence of the State of Israel says, and by the way, that's what the state of Israel has proven, more so than what it said in 1948, in the decades since.

A Semiconductor company was planning to invest in Karnataka. They were told by the Union Govt that if they want incentives, they shouldn't invest in 'Enemy States' according to a Karnataka Minister. Usually 'Enemy States' is a term used for enemy countries, but now it is used to address non-BJP ruled states. Modi Govt is weaponizing Central Schemes to promote investments to Gujarat and only Gujarat! Union Govt is supposed to be impartial, but even Maharashtra which is a BJP ruled state is also considered an enemy state. We are not against Gujarat's development. But India is not just Gujarat and Gujarat is not entire India. When a new Govt comes in the centre and if all projects are taking to another state, how will people of Gujarat feel? It is the same feeling that rest of India is having. States like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana have invested in technology, talent and created an ecosystem in semiconductor and other technology area over several decades. But they are declared as enemy states just for one man's ego. This will not end well.
