Personally, I'm not a fan of the term "Yacht Rock." Please don't ever consider Steely Dan Yacht Rock, like so many do. It's very insulting.

I once ruined a date with a beautiful lady — a former Miss Corpus Christi who was totally out of my league — that I’d been trying and trying to woo for 6 months because the doobies came on the radio and I sang the line as “taping it to my feet”. She apparently was a big fan of the brothers doob. I still think of her every time that song plays and I sing that line.

I took my wife to Boston for her birthday. I hear “sailing” by CC at the hotel. We book a whale watching tour on a sailboat. From a distance we watched the whales swim together and that song was and will forever encapsulate that memory for me. It was absolute peace ⛵️ ☀️ 🐋
