Brilliant! Anyone remember the Echo seller outside M&S Church Street with the bird whistle between his teeth?

new lofi music has landed

I used to meet my Nan outside Owen Owen’s in the 70’s on a Saturday and there was always a guy shouting and selling the ‘Half time Echo’. With the half time football scores in the Stop press.

Decades ago, my great grandmother used to sell the Echo around the city centre area.

Remember the 1 on church street an by St John's as you got off the bus

Wow! This just took me right back to my 10 years old self. Meeting my dad from work off the ferry and him buying an Echo. Thanks for posting this. It’s a keeper.

When we was kids the arl shout of “what do you wipe your arse with” always followed the sellers echo call, could not be more appropriate that these days for that rag.

That’s how I remember the pier head.👍

That's a nice video. I saw another comment about the ferry boat. The one in your video is the Overchurch. According to Google, it's MV Royal Daffodil that's been refurbished into a restaurant. At a glance they do look very similar.

I remember being sent to the newsagents on Saturday evening for the Pink Echo 😂

The shout of "Echo".....walk further down the road and see another seller.. "Echo" is sadly something long lost in our city centre these days. 😞
