I’m pleased to announce my first ever vinyl record as a solo artist. I started out rapping over jungle, grime and UK garage vinyl instrumentals on pirate radio stations, house parties and raves. This is taking it back to the essence for me, a full circle moment. I had always hoped to have my own vinyl record one day. My favourite classic LP’s all have vinyl records, so it feels like a blessing for me and ‘Being Poor is Expensive’ be able to have one too. The love for this album feels like it’s growing more and more everyday, it’s phenomenal. Thank you. The unique custom red vinyl is inspired by “A little bit of Luck” by DJ Luck and MC Neat on Red Rose Recordings and makes it feel even more special. The lyrics on this one are one of my proudest projects to date, and I don’t usually feel like this about my own work. But this track deserves a place in the world all on its own. We tried it as track 12 on Matter Does Not Define, but it just didn’t sit right for me. So, we compromised—it’s now got a special home on the Dinked Edition 320 as one of the 7” bonus tracks, pressed on stunning sky blue vinyl. Job’s a good’un. 🩵🌹

We had such a laugh doing Dancing in the Street with both the song recorded in the studio and the video done in one day. Remarkable how we pulled it off really. The video is hilarious to watch now. We enjoyed camping it up and trying to impersonate each other’s moves, making it up as we went along. It was the only time David and myself collaborated on anything, which is a real shame.
