Show income receipts

You can back into this via substack….

@longlivetaipei @grok make a point for why these high current home prices are actually worth that or breakdown why these homes prices are way inflated and shouldn’t be this price. I believe they’re inflated this price because the government collects property taxes.

High home prices mainly reflect chronic underbuilding, zoning limits and rate lock-in that keep inventory scarce. Property taxes work the opposite way: buyers discount for the ongoing cost, so higher taxes lower purchase prices. Median existing-home prices near $417k are supported by that scarcity, though affordability is strained by 7% rates and elevated price-to-income ratios versus historical norms.

I love your content but please take a vacation man life is too short

It’s tough being in the 1%. Apparently you need to run a successful hedge fund to afford 625 Madison. Might have to settle for Third Avenue. Eww.

Find me an apartment I should buy on 3rd avenue I can afford on a 99th percentile income

@BillyJo14471575 Great video. I thought you were spot on. @grok break down this video and the points he got wrong.

Video: Guy claims top 1% income (~$650k) can't buy a "nice" house in LA, hasn't traveled, so economy is broken and risks worse outcomes. Main miss: Median LA home is ~$950k–1M. On $650k, after-tax cash easily covers a $6–7k monthly payment (20% down, ~7% rate). He means $3M+ prime spots, which is preference, not systemic failure for the 99th percentile. Housing supply/zoning problems hit average buyers harder; high earners still have options nationwide.

“I haven’t traveled in years” “I can’t afford a house in this country in any nice place” Id recommend you travel and look at some places, there’s a lot of good affordable places if you get off the internet and get out of LA

Hate to say it but you gotta leave LA if youre looking to buy. North Montana SM is some of the most expensive housing in the country. Its for net worth >$10mm min. If thats not you, then you either rent or leave. Yes, housing is broken, but its not going back to what it used to be and the boomers who own those homes and dont need to sell, wont.

have you tried skipping Starbucks on weekdays

So true. People saying to just increase sales tax to remove property taxes…No!! That lowers consumer spending which is 2/3rds of our GDP. We should be lowering sales and income tax. New Jersey used to basically only have property tax. To me it’s the most fair tax. It stops homes from inflating for no effing reason.

Champagne taste on a beer budget. You don’t need to work harder, you just need to adjust your housing expectations to your income. I’d like a place in Palm Beach, on the water, too.

99th percentile income is a beer budget in 2026 Got it

I can sure help you come up with a realistic purchase price range if you want to provide details. It’s really simple math. Every loan officer does this every day. What are they telling you that you can qualify for? That’s where you need to be shopping.

beside the point but i made out with you one time a few years ago and now this video popped up onto my timeline and it gave me ptsd flashbacks to when i was an alcoholic. Thanks for fucking ruining my night. But also preaching facts, brother

Sir you are wearing a hat from shinnecock hills

And?

Coming within a mile of there requires affluence

I went to the open. I think you’re missing the point. I’m in the 1% and this is my reality. What is the reality for the 99%?

Not looking at 3.5 million dollars is reality

When you say “nice place”, I think you actually mean, “the most expensive residential areas in the US”.

I think our current system is best described as crony corporatism

Also don’t forget the boomer is accustomed to hyper growth as standard, even for his entitlements

Bro real estate people are literally retarded, and the rest was a boomer and rentier shopping spree with government subsidy. Biggest bubble of all time people cant afford their own garage were they forced to buy it again.

This whole thing becomes almost moronic once I realized you’re saying you deserve to live next to Beverly Hills and only a few blocks from the ocean in your 30’s. Of course this should be expensive

Random dude just popped into my X feed, and he's making a lot of sense

I concurcwith your sentiment. But where in Montana does a legit tear down go for 3.3 mil

So spot on… These mids have a few hundo and are doing cart-wheels as the S&P is burning hot from the artificial support measures. Meanwhile the truly wealthy are expanding the gap.

Louder

You’re not making many friends here. You come off arrogant and cocky and this is all just one big humble brag. All dressed just so you can tell us how much money you make and how smart you think you are.

Sucks to suck. I own a home and I’m nowhere near the 1%

You're partially right. We need a revolution to stop enriching those with extreme money & power. You're a financial winner, but you have unrealistic expectations. Find a cheaper place to live or rent and invest the rest. Be grateful for what you have! You have more than most.

Lol maybe you aren’t 1% after all if you can’t afford a house bruv

Yeah we are in trouble. The housing market is nuts

I’m so glad to have not been born on the coastline. Imagine living in a world where the only nice places are LA & NYC.

Nick you cooked here

just make more money?? retard

Property taxes in my state, NJ, go up on average 1-2% a year, and home values have skyrocketed. I mean not as bad as Cali, but my parents house went from 230k to 950k from ‘87-‘26. You’re WAY off on those numbers. It’s closer to a +1:-1 % Not a +1:-30%.

It takes $250K yearly earnings in the rural Midwest to “live the American dream”. That’s with watching your spending close. I’ve invested for the last twenty years watching morons finance 100 acres for a mil @6% plus taxes while mine has quadrupled. It’s going to crash.💵💣💥

Spot on and agree. It all makes sense. Nobody wants to be the one to start the dominoes as the facade will be broken. It’s all a fagaze. People spending into debt understand it almost subconsciously - who cares it’s all fake. The worst spot is understanding it… frustrating.

For the love of God, quit being dramatic! If you are in the top 1% income, you can afford a house

We are in a transitioning stage where people are becoming obsolete. You will see this in the next 10 - 20 years when robotics are taking off like crazy. The whole world is fucked

You’re stupid. Nice houses sell for 250k to 500k and they are everywhere.

Sounds like your fookked , go get a second job and stop whinging Life is good

10x the media wage is over $400,000 per year. Here are homes he can afford to pay off in a COUPLE of years. All in nice neighborhoods, and assuming 3+ bedrooms, 2+ baths. I was a home owner in a decent neighborhood making a quarter what he makes. Needed a little fixing and updates like paint and fixtures, but it wasn’t bad. This is simply rage bait.
