Since when does a fiercely independent Election Commission need sitting politicians to run PR campaigns for them? 😭 If the ECI is genuinely functioning perfectly within its "well defined constitutional framework", it doesn't need Chief Ministers acting as its defense lawyers on X. Labeling basic public scrutiny as a "smear campaign" just makes the establishment look incredibly insecure.

The CEC Commission is three members and the act which was passed made it very clear that ideally, the decision should be taken unanimously. The only reason Rajeev Chandrasekhar has been made the Keralam BJP President is his financial backing. I have not seen him proactively do anything in Bengaluru, either as an industrialist, a politician, or a statesman. I do not see how the people of Keralam will benefit from him. The Chief Election Commissioner and the Election Commission have compromised with the BJP. Under any transparent government, his affidavit would have been rejected. It is very evident that the BJP, the LDF, and the Election Commission are working together. Imagine what would have happened if I had not declared assets worth ₹200 crore - would they have remained silent? That is why the Government of India brought in an amendment ensuring that the Chief Election Commissioner cannot be held legally accountable. They have completely diluted the Election Commission’s role and weakened the law itself. While the report highlighted 14 objections over 10 months, the Commission said focusing on selected internal notes while ignoring its larger body of decisions, reforms and nearly 40 new initiatives presents only “one part of the picture.” The ECI further stated that its decisions over the past year were taken unanimously by the Full Commission. So when a report fits perfectly into the Opposition’s attack on the ECI, but leaves out the Commission’s larger response, should we call it journalism or selective narrative?
