The elevator buttons are an IQ test

pisses me off so much when my elevator stops on a floor and there's no one there and I know the stupid brown fuck just pressed both buttons because he didn't understand what to do fucking gremlins

Oh God, I am not alone. I experience this constantly in my apartment complex. This idiot staring at you with the question: “Are you going up or down?” 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ I always reply: “I don’t know, which button did you press?” 🫠 (most of the time they press both)

This made my day because I noticed this when I was 13. This actually is fast filter for dumb or at least ignorant people

It doesn't even matter which button you push. Either one will call the elevator to your floor and, after entering the car, you select the direction you want to go.

It actually does matter when there's 1) other people already in the elevator or 2) people pushed buttons on other floors. In these cases you elevator may go the wrong way for you. That's why there are buttons to indicate where you intend to go. The fact that you don't understand this says that your IQ is below 85 and you can't be trusted to operate a microwave.

most UK elevators have/had a single button outside (<|>) to call the elevator, then you selected the floor from inside of it, maybe the real IQ test was simplifying a system down to only what is necessary ?

If you’re going down but you press the top button and once you get inside the lift you press G or 0 and you’ll go down. You think like a sheep.
