No longer can the EPA creatively interpret federal statute and implement new regulations with the claim, “the law doesn’t say I can’t so I guess that means I can.”

We need to be less concerned with inmate pay and a *lot* more concerned with raising firefighter pay. The USFS doesn’t even classify Hotshots as firefighters, and they pay them 1/3 of what municipal firefighters get for doing the same job, and the USFS recently lost 40% of their firefighters. And it’s about to get even worse…Congress is about to cut their pay in half in a few months. Nearly every single CA congressman recently voted against raising their pay to a living wage.
