It is emotional whiplash with her - the way she went from, “let me draw you in with a sweet anecdote about putting my children to bed and having a late night bowl of cereal - all we do as moms, and in our tiny condo” to then flip the switch instantly to trying to guilt trip all of us with her struggle to “count it all joy.” Wtf.

What’s more troubling than the performance is the doctrine behind it. You’re told to take harm and call it joy. Not question it. Not resist it. That’s not resilience. That’s a signal override. Pain is supposed to tell you something is wrong. This reframes it so you never question the source. Calling suffering “joy” doesn’t transform it. It hides the architecture producing it.
