Private markets have a problem - they’re private. Pre-IPO perps let traders get exposure to companies before they go public. OpenAI and Anthropic pre-IPO perps are now live on Coinbase, for eligible traders outside the US.

Kyle Reidhead: Coinbase 🛡️ just announced its everything-app move and it's a lot to process. → Pre-IPO perps on SpaceX, OpenAI, Anthropic. → Options on crypto AND equities 24/7. → Up to 20x leverage. → Commission-free stocks and ETFs. → Tokenized stocks backed 1-to-1. → The first SEC-registered AI-powered investment advisor → Autonomous agents that can trade for you. They're clearly going after Robinhood. And the perps play in the US could be massive once people realize they can trade SpaceX perps. FT The Wolf Of All Streets Kyle Reidhead | Milk Road.

"We're not interested in building tech for tech's sake. We're interested in solving what on-chain users actually want to trade." Lucas Schuermann explains the dual-product vision at Variational: "On the retail side: hundreds of perps and CFDs across not just crypto, but global equities, commodities, stocks in Korea and Japan with TradFi-quality liquidity, not the thin liquidity that comes from every new order book bootstrapping from scratch." "On the institutional side, Variational Pro: OTC derivatives, structured products, options. As tokenization and regulatory frameworks mature, institutions take on these products at scale."

You still think Binance is just an exchange Wrong! $34T traded in 2025 across spot, futures, and on-chain says a lot about where real liquidity and execution live today. This is core crypto infrastructure operating at global scale 🔥

Vlad (Vladimir Novakovski) reveals that only two months after launch, roughly a third of Lighter's revenue already comes from its Robinhood Crypto instance. "What's interesting, it's not just a clone of Lighter core." "The markets that are more active there, you're seeing more of equity perps, like pre-IPO." "One interesting thing, for those pre-IPO probes, there's actually more activity on the Robinhood instance than the core." "We're seeing open interest trend up, and overall volumes and revenue trend up."
