I saw Jon Jones do this before Conor.

Are you being for real Conor was the first person to be recognized for this though

Changed clinch fighting forever. Those shoulder strikes created chaos, opened everything up, and McGregor finished with ruthless precision. Legendary performance.

40 seconds of absolute masterclass. That shoulder strike sequence will be in highlight reels forever. 🇮🇪

Precision, creativity, and killer instinct combined perfectly. One of the most iconic 40-second finishes in UFC history.

Didn't Jones do those first?

No he didn't That credit goes to McGregor

Jones did it first.

Really I don't think so though 🤔

Back when Herb Dean wasn't washed.

Yeah true You could say that

Not as impressive as the dirty slap he hit an old man in his pub cause he told him his whiskey tasted like piss

This shit had to be staged.. Cerrone was in the bag imo

Did you just say staged ??

Yeah.. Mcgregor had lost to Khabib in embarrassing fashion.. about 2 years off from fighting.. he needed a win for a comeback. Cowboy is a company man.. was on a losing streak when he fought Connor and was thus gifted a few more other fights after this loss for whatever reason.. and come on, Cowboy just stands there and let himself get stuck with shoulders? He was in the bag.. for the protection on Connor’s record and future drawing power.

The shoulder strike masterclass against Cowboy remains a defining moment in MMA history. His tactical brilliance and lethal precision inside the clinch dismantled Cerrone instantly, sealing a legendary 40-second finish.

Gives a whole new meaning to giving someone the 'cold shoulder.' Cowboy never saw it coming!

When the match is so chaotic you literally forget who you're supposed to be fighting. Talk about a logistical nightmare

Spot on. Ego gets people into trouble real quick. You can't judge a person's fight IQ or training by their appearance. 🥊

I know u don’t think Conor invented the shoulder strike 😭

Think bro I know he did 😂

Here’s Diaz doing it 14 years before Conor. 😅

Yes, the almighty shoulder strike. Good luck with that.

Yeah absolutely That's the best option at that tight spot

I think Randy Coture would like a word.

A word huh 😂

Donald could never handle pressure. It was nothing to do with elite McGregor

Every single one of them woke up and chose violence today. Corner men must be stressed out of their minds trying to coach this! 😂🥊

Pure chaos everywhere, coaches definitely earned every penny surviving that madness! 😂🥊

The patience on the ground was insane. Didn't force anything, just systematically broke him down until the neck was right there. High-level performance! 🥊

One of the coldest 40-second performances in UFC history. 🥶

Absolutely Never going to be forgotten

Anderson Silva was throwing shoulder strikes years before this fight. Silva used them against Stephan Bonnar in 2012.

Hard to judge anything physical by this. It was entirely a psychological victory. Cerrone never threw a strike. He went into the ring expecting to lose and so he did. Same thing happened in Poirier 1. Connor just psychs people out and they give up. Max won't.

Anderson Silva fez antes.

He actually done it to @BlessedMMA in their first fight once on the ground I think in the third

Blinking is exactly how you miss the counter. The defense is so sharp it's frustrating just to watch! 👀🔥

Dan Henderson Pride 33 in 2007 against Wanderlei Silva. Shoulder strikes from inside Silva's guard. Damn near knocked his mouthpiece out if I remember correctly.

McGregor vs Donald Cerrone ( 18/01/2020 ) Jon Jones vs Mauricio Rua ( 19/03/2011 ) Eres el típico fanboy que no sabe ni por donde le da el aire 😂😂

Sucking on a washed rapist's dick is really pathetic

Man looked like he was trying to swat a fly away instead of throwing a punch. Great reminder that boxing is a completely different beast! 😂

Saw them first with Hardy Brown in the NFL. Iykyk

Nick Diaz was doing that to Frank Shamrock in Pride many years before that...simply not a true statement.

McGregor’s clinical shoulder strikes against Cerrone remain an iconic tactical masterclass. That brilliant, lightning-fast finish perfectly showcased his elite striking IQ and ability to dismantle opponents.

Talk about weaponizing every single inch of your body. Cerrone was playing checkers and Conor was throwing shoulders!

Dude is dangerous at every level. 🥊

That was a long time ago. Conor has historically looked great against favorable matchups like Cowboy, but I wouldn’t necessarily call that elite competition at this stage, especially after seeing what happened in the Dustin fights. I don’t think this would be the same situation with Max. For one, Max isn’t going to stand there and tie up with him. He’ll be much harder to catch clean, he’ll keep the pace high, and he’ll counter effectively. On top of that, Cowboy simply isn’t on the same level as Max Holloway.

Jon Jones did it before Conor early in his career and then before that Clay Guida was the first to use it

Did you guys see the presser

The body always collects its receipts! Love seeing the OGs still delivering that elite level of danger in the gym. Absolute respect.
