He is such a class act. He had every right to be that angry, but as he said in his presser, he regretted that it "didn't stay in the kitchen" and apologized to Williams. Can anyone imagine Brian Kelly doing that??🙄

Marcus calmed down and spoke to him individually on the sidelines Lou holtz had numerous occasions where he did similar things to his players. Marcus also post game etc apologized to Williams and have further talk with him in house just like I’m sure Lou and most coaches do

@GoldeNDomerzz I disagree with coach - I loved it! Players who make a mistake need coaching. But players who do stupid stuff need to be chewed out.

I don’t have a problem with what Coach Freeman did. That was tame compared to what young men go through in military basic training. That was coach having a fatherly teaching moment with his player that had done something dumb and it cost the team.

As a person who coached and understands those moments. Marcus has every right to lay into the player. They know the rules and expectation of his program. He violated that and got 15 yards which helped MSU.

Aneyas Williams has done EVERYTHING you would want from a young recruit. Stuck in there as RB3, shined in his limited opportunities, and now has the reigns. However, don't drive us off the cliff #22. Looking forward to the rest of the season!!

The context left from this video is Marcus discussion with Williams letting him know moments passed, he loves him and hope he learned from his mistake. Luke Talich pulling Williams back was because he was on the field, not to protect him. That context was left to interpret wrong.

Because he isn’t good enough to be celebrating at all. That was the player in freeman coming out. Most athletes should understand this.

Marcus Freeman did nothing wrong. He’s the head coach and it’s his program. Seems like Williams understood that.

Love Williams, not a fan of overdone celebrating. When you score, act like you've been there before. High five your teammates, flip the ball to the ref, go back and do it again. Better yet, do it rocket (Raghib Ismael) style.

This is a great leader. Full stop. This was exactly how he should have approached it. Including telling the press he apologized to his player for HIS reaction. He didn't just tell his player he was wrong, he told the world he was wrong and will correct it. 100% accountability.

They all had to have practiced this before.. some position coaches had to have seen or known it was going down. Even CJ in on the action. I’m all for celebrating with your team but like Coach said “too choreographed” Still laughed when it happened though 🤭

You KNOW you f'd up if you get a reaction like this from Freeman. Bench the dude for a half, then let him prove he's still RB1. No mistakes (celebration BS), good production, and ball control. That's what we need. Not immaturity. Dude wasn't even the heavy hitter that game.
