The devastating murder of Sarah Montgomery, a loving mother of two, has once again tragically shone a light on the deep-rooted misogyny in our society that continues to steal women’s lives. Luc Jasmin, a member of the Washington’s Human Rights Commission has resigned after an antisemtic outburst in which he described Jews "crying" about antisemitism. The worst part? The discussion was part of other commission members' attempts to pass a "definition" of antisemitism that doesn't define antisemitism at all. It instead asserts "the equation of antisemitism with anti-Zionism...has been instrumentalized as a pretense for attacks on the First Amendment rights of free speech." A definition that focuses more on telling Jews that our attempts to stay alive are harming other people's free speech isn't really about protecting Jews. Bondi responds by saying antisemitism on college campuses is the real issue at hand, and what the government needs to be focused on, "especially after what happened to Charlie." She then uses Charlie's death to justify unconstitutional prosecution of "hate speech," and spends the next 40 seconds talking about prosecuting antisemitism. I take back what I said yesterday. I don't think Pam Bondi is an idiot, I think she's working on behalf of foreign interests to clamp down on free speech in America –– and I know for a fact Charlie would've spoken out against it.
