I’m not one to blame officials for losing games, but when it’s obvious, sometimes, it does need... to be pointed out. Like the non-pass interference call to Darren Waller in the Week 6 game vs the Bills that ended the game. That was as blatantly bad as it got. In the Giants 33-25 loss yesterday to the Eagles, the officials were pretty bad to where several non-calls were that obvious. “I think there were some flags that could have been thrown, but that is not our place. That is not fair. If it’s a call, call it. It shouldn’t be a last-play mentality. If it’s a call, and if it’s blatant, then it should be called. It should be honored like it is the first play of the game.”- Giants QB Tyrod Taylor. “I’d say, any official questions, you can ask those guys.”- Giants head coach Brian Daboll, who clearly looked angry when he entered the press conference room, probably knew he’d get a massive fine if he said what he wanted to, so he kept it simple.show more

Suns' Dillon Brooks on picking up his 16th technical foul last night, which will make him suspended for the next game if it stands: "I had a ref tell me that I play the victim, so I ain't talking no more about that." "He literally said that to you? Was that James [Williams]?" DB: "Yeah. He said I'm playing victim all the time. And when I don't play victim, I'm the bad guy. Choose one. ... If you're going to be consistently bad, then be consistently bad throughout the whole game. Don't try to fix it during the game. This runner at first was caught in a pick off move by the pitcher. Pitcher throws to first and the first baseman fires to second and the umpire calls him out. He looked safe on the play. However, the umpire admits he was safe but said he called him out because the other team was losing 10-0 in the first inning. He said “he was so safe but I just gave it to them.” Basically saying we gotta’ get the game moving right? Fellow umpires, some coaches and parents said they respect the call and why. But many people said you are cheating that one runner by calling him out. They said no matter the score you have to have integrity even if it is 20-0. They said this is why kids grow up disliking umpires and why parents act the way they do. Tough one- I actually understand where he is coming from but if that were your kid, would you want him called out? I say call the game the right way 100% and let it play out the way it is supposed to. How is the other team supposed to get better if you are giving them calls? Do you agree with the umpire and why he did it? Or, are you totally against that and that should never happen?

Regarding the Eric Trump / Daniel Cormier “text scandal”, I am open to being convinced otherwise, but I do not believe for one second that Eric Trump would text something so stupid to Daniel Cormier. It’s laughably stupid on its face to think that Eric Trump would ask a UFC commentator if any of the fights are “rigged”. That he would ask it in writing. And that he would not, for example, just pick up the phone and call Dana White or Joe Rogan himself. That said, I just want to understand what happened. Daniel Cormier said he was hacked. Is that to say he was hacked at the text level, or the X post level? Did he in fact make the post, and delete it? If he made the post, did he do it as a joke to illustrate how absurd the text hack was, but realized how the post could be misinterpreted as real? Or did someone make the post from his X account he subsequently deleted it. I know there are some who are going to say he made the post in earnest, thinking the text messages were real, intending to call out the “corruption”, and he has since been threatened, deleted the post, and claimed “hack”, etc. I can tell you exactly why I do not believe, even if he made the post, he did it believing the text message was real, intending to call out the “corruption”. If Cormier seriously thought the text messages were real, he would understand that by posting it publicly, it would literally destroy the UFC, his livelihood and his legacy - in addition to the legacy of everyone who has ever competed in the UFC. There is no realm of the universe in which even if it were in fact a real text that he actually received from Eric Trump, he would post it publicly. Because it would mean the end of the UFC. I just want to know if he actually made the post from his X account, or if the entire post was the result of a hack (hence the subsequent deleting of the post). People are all up in arms because Atlanta Falcons RB Bijan Robinson referenced the kids tackle football game “Smear The Queer” This is a non-story & there’s no need for Bijan to apologize. That was the name of the game. If you wanna call it “Kill the Carrier” now, go for it. But, the sensitivity to anything LGBTQ now is ridiculous. This comment was not disparaging or insensitive.

Every war criminal deserves a fair trial…and that includes Israeli soldiers. If you’re accused of bombing hospitals, torturing detainees, or executing civilians, you don’t get a pass because of the flag on your uniform. The Hague exists for a reason. And if it’s not applied equally, it’s not justice. This is not a call to vengeance, this is a call for accountability under a court of law in neutral conditions. Let the world see what they’ve done and let them answer for it under the laws they pretend to uphold. If the West actually believes in human rights, then it’s time to prove it in court.

Snapshot of something Mike Vrabel expressed frustration with this morning: He sees Hunter Henry (bottom of screen) trying to communicate with the official 15 yards away/do the right thing alignment-wise … and still get penalized. “I’ll have to try to get some clarification on that — how we are going to do this going forward,” Vrabel says. Earlier today, in his radio interview, Vrabel shared that he was irked with over-officiating at the line of scrimmage. “If our guys are going to look over; I get that we have to be legal. But for as long as I can remember in this league, the refs are going to try to officiate proactively and work with the players. “If it’s a hold, call a hold. If it’s defensive pass interference, call defensive pass interference. But at the line of scrimmage, if players are going to try to get the formation correct … we’re not going to tell them that they are either on the line of scrimmage or they have them off? They’re just going to sit there and tap their knee? “I don’t know what that is. That’s frustrating that we are that literal as an officiating department — if that is indeed what they are telling them. … “I didn’t know when we were going to start officiating the line of scrimmage and not communicate with our players. Because in the end, the relationship the players have with officials, I think can be really positive and they can explain the mechanics they’re looking for.”

Lowry seems like he doesn't agree that the ball moved. Said he wishes there were more cameras on it but accepted the penalty because he didn't want to be called a cheat. Scottie added that Shane was "put in a tough situation, but handled it very well." It seems like the footage is pretty obvious (?), but there are also other videos in which it's not obvious, which is probably what they were looking at.

I have been trying to figure out what I think about Brian Callahan….admittedly don’t know much about him but watching these three clips esp the press conference clip made my blood boil It’s difficult to play QB in this league esp as a youngster and there will be lots of growing pains with Levis…holding any player accountable esp the QB is important but for a young kid do it in the QB meeting room, do it in the team meeting room….if your comfortable in your own skin and you are a leader the blame in a press conference should always fall on you as the head coach (even if it’s not the case)

"Best receiver in football in a one-on-one with a run call you feel good about on fourth and one. I would not change that call." The lack of running the ball is a very fair criticism, but these are the shots you should be taking

Is it “woke” to let a woman play college football? Meet Haley Van Voorhis. This past weekend she incredibly became the first woman non-kicker to play in an NCAA football game. After the game, there were numerous people on social media calling it “a woke stunt.” In my opinion, we should be celebrating the fact that Van Voorhis broke new ground. It’s not even as if she didn’t make an impact. As you can see in the video below, she got a Quarterback hurry in the one play she partook in. Why is everything “woke” to so many people? Is Anti-Wokeness becoming a bigger problem? Congratulations Haley!
