@ripplebrain I think Tapper is genuinely confused. His problem is that he wants to be supportive of the war because he’s a zionist but he knows that the explanation given makes Israel look like they’re ambushing the U.S. to drag it into the war.

You have to admit, it is confusing that this is the story the White House and Republicans are going with.

The argument that US bases would be under threat seems to be entirely disconnected from how the 12-day war played out. Israel and Iran duked it out only until the US stepped in. If the US washed their hands of it, zero reason for Iran to attack the US.

They hit Iran first, which led to Iran hitting all the u.s. bases, but they had to do this because Israel was about to hit Iran and if they had let that happen Iran would have hit all of the u.s. military bases…

That's not how self defense works you aren't required to wait and see if they hit you 1st if you believe someone is gonna attack you you have the right to hit 1st
