You are a good reporter, but France 24 has lied about the Ukraine war for three years. You faked that Ukraine was winning while it was losing over one million soldiers. That makes it hard to believe anything that France 24 reports. France 24 is a WEF driven propaganda organ.

1%? In Europe (Portugal) we pay at least 23% VAT (value-added tax) on everything that enters, including US products. No to mention specific areas taxes.

Tariffs 101: Tariffs are not paid by countries. Canada does not pay them to the US. Likewise, the US does not pay them to Canada. The importer from that country imposing the tariffs, pays it. For example, if Trump imposes 50% tariffs on trucks made by GM, but GM made them in Canada. GM is paying $50K in tariffs. Not Canada. And that $50K extra in tariffs, is ultimately paid by the consumer. Ultimately, it's a tax paid by businesses, passed down to the consumer of the country that imposed the tariffs. Likewise, Canada imposing tariffs on the US, only hurts Canadian customers. Countertariffs are done strategically, to prevent the flight of manufacturing, from Canada, to the US. In the end, during trade wars like this, consumers always end up paying the price.

The tariffs are genius and explained here. I don’t understand why people are up in arms about President Trump’s tariffs. These are RECIPROCAL tariffs. These countries have already been imposing their tariffs on us for decades. We finally have a President who is saying “hey bud, if you are going to charge us, we are going to charge you the same in return. How is that a bad thing? The bad part is we have had these weak Presidents in the past that never did anything about it.

However, this may also be part of Trump's negotiation strategy: ◾️ Either you agree to some kind of peace format, or the 500% tariffs promised by Lindsey Graham will be imposed on all goods from countries that buy Russian oil. ◾️ The United States and Russia might be close to a possible signing of an agreement on "rare earth metals," which would not only allow American funds to enter Russian energy production, but also create trading houses for the sale of Russian sanctioned goods, primarily in the EU.
