Damn…..that actually choked me up. Tom Motherfucking Petty. What a hero. Legend. Miss him in the world. Think I might need to go have a beer, a toke, and play a Petty set. Yep. Thanks for the post.

On those last nights of that final tour both he and Mike were nursing hip injuries.

He didn’t look healthy at all.

One of the best concerts I’ve attended a few years prior to this. The crowd was insanely enthusiastic and even Tom said he was blown away by it. Steve Windwood opened and came back out and did Gimmie Some Loving” with Tom. The energy from the crowd felt electric.

I remember he didn’t want to leave the stage after the last song, he kept coming back even after the lights went up. It’s like he knew it was the last time.

Florida is proud of our Gainesville Boy. This one hit hard.

What a great opening line to a song… “ She was an American girl, Raised on promises…”

@Evansweather I sure miss Tom Petty! I once worked security at a private party for a rich guy in the Hamptons. To my surprise, Tom Petty was the band! Best gig I ever had!! I’ll never forget it😇
