THE FIRST EVER ONE SHINING MOMENT 🤩 #MarchMadness

Now it's ruined with a worse version of the song and the blasting of announcers yelling over the song and highlights.

@PeteMoris I like this original style and singer, David Barrett, that was used from 1987 to 1993 better than the last several years of what it’s like now. I’m probably in the minority, but that’s how I feel.

1st and best! Still gives me goosebumps. I guess Indiana winning helped for me!

The fact the final isn't on CBS is stupid af.

Is this like an MTV first video fun fact? Dwayne Schintzius being the first player ever shown on a One Shining Moment clip.

Young Rick Pitino makes a couple of cameos, Billy the Kid, to.

Written by ANN ARBOR's David Barrett!

@eisner_ryan Dwayne Schintzius. The most epic college basketball mullet. #legend🏀🏀🏀

@ChrisHudgison Man, some legendary players and coaches.

No one knew how to hug in the 80s. It's weird. I respect it.

Gators the first team to ever appear on One Shining Moment 👀

this was a great version of the song but nothing can ever top luther vandross' version. no reason to have ever moved on from that 1.

Great one for all the Hoosiers!!!

That remains the BEST one ever done. Some coaching legends included. Thank You for sharing!

@TommyBeer Great memories! I still think the best version is by Teddy Pendergrass.

CBS used to use a wistful piano instrumental while they ran the credits of all the workers and staff and while they did that the camera would show the players cutting down the nets, once the credits and nets were cut they'd cue one shining moment and didn't even plug it.

Always look forward to this every year, except the 1 year we won't talk about when it was a music video instead of the highlight package

Kevin Gamble ftw!!

Whatever happened to the team in red. Did they become a football school?

I'm glad they made they switch to Luther

🏀🙏😊 #iubb

CBS had for 4 years other finishes - one was Christopher cross in 83 . One other was being alive .

@cityofpalms1 This was the first NCAA Tournament I remember. I was a die hard ‘Cuse fan then; Sherman, Stevie, DC, Seikaly. Keith Smart’s shot was a killer. This game and this tournament has meant so much and done so much for me. Can’t believe that was almost 40 years ago! #MarchMadness

I was in the building. Didn’t see it until I watched the VHS tape when we got home.

@kandyman19 brings a tear to the eye every time.

Always goosebumps and tears...have a great game gentlemen. It has been an amazing tourney this year. Thank you

Keith Smart stole that from SU

Ugh if Derrick Coleman hits a free throw Cuse has 2 nattys

Dear god please get rid of this.

Luther Vandross vocals turned it to something other worldly

Get rid of this completely Gaye 1980’s Crap song!!! What a joke and embarrassment to the NCAA!!!

these guys look like 30 year olds casted to play high schoolers.

My favorite versions are after the three @GatorsMBK titles! #GoGators🐊

Like it was tonight all over again. 🍊
