This woman is committed to finishing her degree, even when she got pregnant and had a baby. She refused to take off and was even more determined to be able to provide a better life for her child. She often brings the baby to class because she doesn’t have a sitter. Her professor sees this and often will hold and comfort her baby for her so she can take notes in class or have a breather. Knowing the distractions young children can bring, is this appropriate or should young children not be allowed on college campuses?

So what better plaything than a baby of their own? Playing with dolls nurtures a host of skills - fostering language and motor development, creative thinking, and social- emotional development. Doll play also contributes to self-regulation. As they soothe and comfort their dolls, babies are practicing the same skills needed to comfort themselves. And what a tender and thoughtful caretaker this little cutie is. After putting her doll to sleep, she is cognizant of the need for quiet - and ready to enforce it! I commend the dedicated team at Nsambya Hospital for providing exceptional care to this precious child. Let's unite in condemning violence against children and advocating for their safety and well-being. Our prayers and gratitude go out to baby Claire and her medical team. In God we trust.
