“The Fly” - U2

I’ll never forget living in Austin and hearing this on the radio for the first time. I was simultaneously appalled, confused, and completely fucking invigorated. 🤣 Like…what the hell happened to U2? Turns out, exactly what needed to happen.

It was similar to when REM went alternative. Monster was that album.

Never liked U2. Then this song and album came out. A banger. Wow!

I was expecting another Joshua Tree album. The Fly video premiered on Top Of The Pops on Thursday. It blew my mind as they proceeded to ‘chop down The Joshua Tree’. ♥️

The last hit from U2

Tremendous song

Great song!

What a song! What an album! One of the best bands ever!

The older I get the more I agree with Henry Rollins

What did old man Rollins have to say?

lol sound reasonable…

Zooropa was the last meaningful thing they did. Also, what kind of man quotes his own song lyrics at another man’s funeral?

Awesome song

😎

Peak U2. And I loved the arc. In a way it went rattle n hum to pop n disco tech, and the Fly was in the middle of it all. Some of the music was challenging, but this was a grand artistic vision executed to perfection.

The opening song on the Zoo TV tour

👎

The boys from Dublin chopped down that Joshua Tree with this banger Zoo Station too
