Wish i still had the photo of me and my dad,early 70's, 4472 was in for a service at East end Park,Leeds.He started shovelling coal aged 14 at the outbreak of WWII.Became a driver and managed 50 years with BR.Beautiful maschine. Miss you dad 🙏

It was an ordinary train when I was a child. Every summer I went to stay with my family in Fife. I was born there! My father was from London, so that's where we lived. Kings X to Edinburgh. It ended in 1963. I was 8. Costs a fortune now. Shillings back then.

York is so beautiful. I'm glad I've had the opportunity to visit on a few occasions. Unfortunately my LNER coach arrival wasnt as dramatic as this...🥲
