Japan is deploying medium-range missiles in the Ryukyu Islands, on Yonaguni, just 110 km from China's Taiwan. This move revives a forgotten name: Ryukyu. Once a thriving kingdom with its own culture and was recognized by many countries, Ryukyu was gradually erased: annexed by Japan, manipulated after WWII, and rewritten as "Okinawa." How does a kingdom disappear? The Undetermined Status Of Ryukyu uncover the buried truth. #Ryukyu #ChinaJapan

The documentary "The Tragedy of Ryukyu", made by a Chinese influencer, shows us how the locals in Ryukyu are deeply affected by the US military bases that Japan allows.

Re-enactment of the Investiture of the King of Luchu 琉球 (Ryukyu) by Qing Dynasty envoys, in Okinawa's Shuri Castle in 2016. Confirmation of the ruler of Luchu (Ryukyu) as King by the emperor grants legitimacy. Re-enactment done yearly til the unfortunate 2019 fire that burned down Shuri Castle
