Well...the forklift isn't a submarine so...not his problem.

He did his job. He removed it off the dock.

It's not his problem nor his fault. They didn't pull the gangway into the hold fast enough.

And thus a new set of crew members learned to retract the gangway before casting loose.

What did you want him to do? Put the forklift in amphibious mode?

When the math doesn’t add up and the forklift starts sliding toward the water… “not my problem” is the correct answer 😂 Respect the driver’s survival instincts.

It wasn’t the forklift driver’s problem. The gangway should have been stowed before the ship pushed away from the dock.

“Forklift, Submarine mode activate!”

What exactly is the forklift supposed to do about that?

I've always seen those gangways secured to overhead davits before retrieval. They are heavy and there is no way 4 men could keep it from dropping after the forklift did its job. The forklift driver did his job. What happened is entirely the ship's crew fault.

I mean it did leave the dock so I get it

Kind of unbelievable a ship of that size and calibre wouldn't have a better solution to this.
How is this even a thing? 🤣 One should thing automated retraction systems would be standard in this day in age.

My ship this spring same thing happened May 2026 mariner galveston We had to wait to disembark outside in the rain while extended boom dude had to come get it out of the water. He looked annoyed he had to stop what he was doing to come help retards who can’t do their job

How stupid are they? Why is the gangway not pulled back before the ship leaves? 🤣 Makes one wonder (of the seas). 😂

This is the normal process. All walk Ways are dropped into the water like this to help form coral reefs.

Did his part

Lol as a forklift driver of 13 years this is a W for us

Give them credit for letting go after they thought they were going to pull in a half ton.

The gang way has gone mate. Hanging around looking at the spot isn't going to bring it back.

They prolly would’ve still been able to save it at this point 🤷♀️

Not his problem indeed. He already gave them a big favor by taking a risk doing it

It actually wasn't his problem anymore though

Forklift driver really said “I don’t get paid enough to go full Aquaman” and dipped 😂 Not my problem, not my ocean, not my $50k gangway.

Yep. thats true how is he involved?

Im sure it aint the first time this has happened lol they probably have backups ether on the port or within the ship

He was like yeah, I think I'm done here.😂

Why was the ship pulling out while the gangway was still there?

Minimum wage, minimum involvement. He said 'not in my job description' and hit the gas 🤣

Looks like the boat crew pulled it off the lift. So ya not his problem

he said that's next shift's problem now.
