I’m not here to defend George Floyd, but how do you REALLY know how bad of a person he was? Do we need to talk about how “broken” the “justice” system is and how much it exploits the black community? The government won’t even tell you who was involved with Epstein Island, nor make any arrests, but we’re certain that everything on the local level is just? There’s been like 5 different ongoing cop shows on TVsinceI was a kid. Surely it propaganda, to legitimize the legal system. I saw something similar to this with some black teacher calling what he called “Niggerism” and the rot that it causes in the black community, and the need to be what Andre is calling “Blacks” (although he didn’t use that term). But as a Hispanic who grew up in the 70’s & 80’s I can say that I got a lot of crap that Thomas Sowell used to talk about, so-called “acting white” versus being true to our “heritage” (even if it was holding us back). Nowadays I just tell my kids, it’s ok to remember where came from and our heritage but at the end of the day be a good and productive person/American.

I agree that self reflection is a good thing, but you are leaving out the history. This problem can’t be solved without understanding the context. Comprehending how Black America got to this point - including the intentional targeting by the US government (for example, assassinations of people trying to better the community, redlining, and the school to prison pipeline accelerated by intelligence agencies flooding black neighborhoods with drugs and guns) - is key to fixing the situation. Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it, so make sure you tell the whole story instead of one side of it.

The nigga type black person is pushed onto blacks by incorporating that culture into black media, like rap songs talking about being a gangster, written by gay men who aren’t even close to being a gangster. Its a subversive move that is actually working.
