That scene where Widow Tweed leaves Tod in the rain is arguably more devastating than Mufasa's death because there’s no villain—just the cruel reality of life. It’s wild to realize that Tim Burton and John Lasseter were actually in the animation pits for this one, learning the ropes while the studio was literally falling apart.

That bear may not be evil by nature, but scary as hell he was due to his gigantic size, black fur, blood-red eyes and ferocity.

I can clearly say, this is one of the most absolutely darkest movies disney has ever made, and this climax proves it. I think many poor children who watched this had nightmares for days.😨😢

I remember this movie fondly I had it on vhs as a kid in the early 2000snds

this is the most unrealistic scene ever; no way a 60 lb bloodhound and a 15 lb red fox can tank even one swipe from a 600 lb bear

Tbh for everything Tod and copper went through they should of stuck together instead of Tod running off with vixen and never being able to see each other again it straight up sucks

A classic.

This has gotta be one of the best animated scenes in Disney’s classic library. The idea of it is terrifying. It’s got the same energy as Mama Longneck vs Sharptooth in The Land Before Time. Always kills me though how the plot is just like “and suddenly there’s a bear!”

They really don't make them like they used to anymore... Funny how it starts off like a silly buddy adventure, only for it to hit HARD with realism during the final act. Damn good movie.
