Cameron Young is playing with a golf ball that would allegedly be compliant with the new roll back rules that will come into effect in a few years time. He was asked about it ahead of the PGA Championship and he says every player in the game is sacrificing distance for control, and he put it in play at the Wyndham last year which he won. “I think I put it in play the same reason that everybody else plays the ball that they play. I hit it during a ball test, one of the Titleist facilities probably close to two years ago and didn't know anything about it and just kind of say, hey, what's that one? Because I liked the flight. “Then as things progressed, I was able to test it last year at Wyndham, able to put that in play, and it's been there since. “Obviously there is no conforming list. I wasn't aware that it would have -- I suppose I read something that said it passed that test, but I wasn't aware of that until very recently. “So at no point was that a consideration. It was just really me trying to optimize my golf, and it's the ball that seems to work the best for me.” He then was asked whether he lost distance with it compared to other balls he’s tested: “Not particularly. I don't think any of us are out really here playing the ball that goes the farthest. I think you'd struggle to find a single person that's doing that. We're all sacrificing a certain amount of things that we feel are worth it, control with irons, control with wedges. For me, that's the biggest thing is being able to control spin, and this is the ball that does the best for me.” Finally he can as asked whether this ball goes further than the one he was using: “No, I hit very similar, yeah. It's much more -- the driver is kind of the easiest thing to deal with, I feel like. For me to get it where it needed to be, I had to just add a little bit of spin, and it kind of comes out at a perfectly playable range. “For me, the biggest thing, like I said, is the irons. This ball is easier to control with the irons. It doesn't spin as much, and it just allows me to be better with my distance control just because it's more consistent.” The golf ball rollback has been a hugely controversial subject but Cameron Young is currently using one that’s compliant and he is playing the best golf of his career. It just shows how you really have to have on-the-court feel and not just analytics, because I don't think analytics would tell you to shoot the ball eight times in a row if you miss, and taking shots early in the shot clock. As a basketball purist, what San Antonio did kind of is unforgivable as a team. You have so many players that can make so many decisions. For no one to say, 'Hey, let's get a good shot.' It takes so much more like sacrifice and discipline and things over the course if you want to be really great at this and if you want to do it for a long period of time. Timing is everything, isn’t it? And sometimes being in the right place at the right time feels well, timely, or even predetermined. With wildlife photography, it’s all about being in the right place at the right time. The more you know about your subject, the better because it increases your chances of being where you need to be when you need to be there. There is also an element of just letting go and taking what is given to you. It’s always best to have no expectations at all when it comes to wildlife. On this morning, everything did fall perfectly into place, and I was able to capture this dreamy scene of a beautiful Dalmatian pelican and its reflection on smooth water as it came in for a landing. Oh yeah, the glorious snow-capped mountains in the back were definitely a treat too. The days prior to this, that mountain range was hidden by clouds. I didn’t even know it was there. 🤪

Same as it was when I just got to college and started playing conference games. The Providence game. Everybody saw this game. I can’t say it was the best experience I’ve ever had. But it was a really useful game because those games prepared me for the most important part of the season in March Madness where I was playing point guard full time. The games against Houston, the games against Iowa State, the games against Arizona, Baylor, where they’re really trying to break you. Especially me when they see me with the high dribbling, right? They’re really trying to, the coach is like, Yo! pressure! Pressure! For me, it’s just time and adjustment. I need to get used to that. Spend more time in practices handling the ball thanks to our guys who are not being selfish by not playing great defense against me. Tyson, Q, TJ, Dre, all these guys were guarding me in the practices, and it’s pretty hard. So, for me having these experiences, not just in the games, but in practice is huge.”

Jimmy used to go to a little salty piece of land in the Bahamas whenever he had time for a little R&R. It was a golf cart only kind of place... great fishing and the clear blue waters the Bahamas are famous for. He decided to send me a video of the peaceful patio with nothing but the sounds of the ocean and A1A on the turntable. The video was 7 minutes long... perfection. The only problem? The audio cable didn't work so it's just the record spinning with no sound 🤣 And it was still awesome - trimmed it to show you the ending because this was JB in one of his happiest of places.

Pulling off the ball is the #1 issue hitters struggle with. (they would agree) To fix it, you don't need to try harder or swing slower. Schwarber proves that. He hits the longest home runs without coming off the ball. How to correct it: Shoulder in, chin and face in on the ball and swing the bat over your front shoulder. Then hold the finish (Arraez swing and finish drill he did in the video) It's worked WONDERS for hitters I've used it with when they need it.
