Another example of Drake rewarding loyalty on ICEMAN. Russ has consistently said that Drake is his favorite rapper. And on "ASTALAVISTA," Drake finally gives him his recognition: "And people are overly invested in what happens to Drake, but nobody invested like us / The way things are going up, I might start posting all of my publishing checks like Russ." Drake could finally relate to the level of hate and mischaracterization of someone like Russ, when he was experiencing it firsthand from all the PDF allegations and people wishing such ill will on those around him, even his family and child. Tyler Spry: There’s a video that’s gone around on the Internet when I was writing with V, James Essien and Sean Foreman. That video is not the making of any of the songs that made the album, but it was one of the most fun days I had in the studio with the guys. We were just jumping up and down, singing the songs. I think that it was one of the freest days we had in the studio, creatively. So I do hope that song gets to see the light of day.

A lot of Kendrick Lamar’s shots at Drake seemed to contain references/lyrics that I believe were signaling JAY-Z’s influence behind the scenes. One example is “LOYALTY.” featuring Rihanna: 🧐 The song repeatedly uses the line “It’s a secret society, all we ask is trust,” a lyric originally associated with JAY-Z he used it on a few songs “ Get Your Mind Right” & “ Do My.” 🤔 In the Loyalty music video, there’s a scene where a man I have compared to Drake wearing a black Wife Beater similar to the style Drake frequently wore during that era ( I Think Drake Use To Wear The Black Wife Beater To Take Shots At Kendrick After The Allegations) Well in the scene The Alleged Drake Look Alike Appears To Be Trying To Solicit A Prostitute Played By Rihanna, only for Kendrick, playing her pimp, to confront and Fight him. 🤔 The following scene shows Rihanna placing complete trust in Kendrick, even appearing to overcome her fear of heights alongside him. 🧐 At this point, Billboard's latest "Top 50 Songs of 2026 So Far" list feels less like an objective ranking and more like another example of the music industry and media attempting to minimize Drake's success. Drake released a No. 1 album in 2026, generated some of the biggest streaming numbers of the year, dominated online conversations, and continued to be one of the most commercially successful artists in music. Yet somehow Billboard couldn't find room for any of the biggest records from that project inside the Top 10. But an unreleased Jay-Z freestyle from the Roots Picnic landed at No. 7. Make it make sense. This wasn't even an official single. It wasn't commercially released. It wasn't a chart-dominating record. It wasn't a song fans were streaming for months. It was a basic freestyle performance that generated a few headlines because people were debating who Jay-Z was taking shots at. Meanwhile, Drake's first appearance on the list doesn't arrive until No. 18 with "Shabang." And what makes it even more interesting is Billboard's write up itself.
