Today, Kolkata witnessed a magnificent morning of harmony, wellness and unity as we hosted the Grand International Day of Yoga at our iconic Red Road 🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️ We were deeply honoured to have this mega event graced by Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, who can be rightfully portrayed as Yoga's Biggest Ambassador on the Global Stage. Hon'ble Prime Minister led us from the front, making Kolkata the proud focal point of this year's International Yoga Day celebrations. This year's theme was ‘Yoga For Healthy Ageing’ which emphasises the importance of performing Yoga for all age groups in order to remain fit and healthy. It was a joy to share this peaceful morning with the Hon'ble Governor, Hon'ble Union Ministers, my Cabinet Colleagues, esteemed Dignitaries and the thousands of enthusiastic Citizens who gathered to celebrate the spirit of well-being. It is profoundly fitting that one of the biggest events in the world, which connects millions of People across continents, is being held right here in Kolkata. Today, we officially opened the Parents’ Overnight Suite at the Bustamante Hospital for Children, giving parents a safe and comfortable place to stay while their children receive care. Bustamante is the only specialist children’s hospital in the English-speaking Caribbean and has been serving Jamaican families for over 60 years. Each year, more than 70,000 children come here for treatment and support. This new space means parents can stay close to their children when they need them most, because we know that family support plays a big role in healing.
