Ghost in the Shell (1995) That capture from Faye Valentine (Cowboy Bebop - 1998) is not actually from the series but for the movie, Knockin' On Heaven's Doors from 2001, great movie. Perfect Blue (1997) Some Akira, Bubblegum Crisis shows as well.
Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Gunbuster, Tenchi Muyo!, Golden Boy, Evangelion, Dragon Ball Z, InuYasha, Bleach...peak. Absolute PEAK. And now, in the mid 20s, we're making a comeback!

While these kind of anime are now far and few between these days, the masters of these anime have gone on to make other great anime Ex: the GOAT Yoshiaki Kawajiri of Cyber City Oedo 808 and Ninja Scroll has gone on to work on Demon Slayer and Frieren (seriously)
Renting all these on VHS made the experience even better.
