The concept of critical thinking was taught to me in high school in the 2010s as “trusting reputable (government) sources.” No joke

She's like *This is crazy* you would make your own opinion, after hearing both sides of an issue. Critical thinking is such a rare thing now in academia, schools or the public forum. Why? Because it anyone asking questions will inevitably question the powers that be.

I remember the days of the evening news simply giving you factual information and letting you form your own opinion. They weren’t telling you what to think. I’m not sure when that changed, but it’s gone now.
