If you want to see how about labor during that time, in Ohio's history, the Museum of the Ohio History. It exhibits various aspects of Ohio's history, including the industrial era, labor movements, and the development of company towns. It speaks on the depression and Hobos.

James Earl Jones's favourite film. And having rewatched it recently, I can absolutely see why. It's the great Hollywood Communist film, and it doesn't even mention the "C" word! It's incredible that it was ever made, especially by John Ford, who later on moved firmly to the right
