Honestly? TLDR, went my entire life believing it was IMPOSSIBLE to learn how to code for games the other month I was like screw it man, opened godot, looked up tutorials for exactly what I needed, and managed to get things up and running within a couple of months. It's not(1/2)

Truth be told I have godot on my pc rn, and the furthest I've ever gotten was moving a capsule on a flat plane.... With a horrible camera. But looking back on it, I was so proud of what I made ( considering that most of my projects usually end in failures)

It's a really exciting thing, even just getting the bare minimum character controller set up and being able to walk around LOL How I've avoided getting overwhelmed so far has just been about looking up tutorials for exactly what I need, and doing my best to truly understand it

I love it! Is it a stylized PS1 style, or how would you describe it?

If I'm being completely honest, I'm kind of just messing around and seeing what works haha Definitely crunchy textures like PS1 for sure though

Thank you very much! I'm brand new to gamedev, so I'm just mucking along, but the way I've been doing level design has been blocking out the entire thing with CSGboxes in Godot, exporting the entire scene, importing to blender, and then just building proper assets on top of that

I really should use CSGboxes more. But that's a good idea, to just export back and forth. I've grown quite comfortable with Blender. Thanks.

Ayyy thank you, glad you like the look of it already I'm gonna be feeling out the gameplay for a good while, but the world design itself is built with the blood of Fromsoft coursing through its veins, and the core philosophy of the game has exploration as the main focus

sounds really really cool. from the character design, I'd say it needs more gameplay altering movement and magic than the typical fromsoft game. but I'm sure you've got your vision for it covered. excited to try it out some time hopefully soon. consider iterating through demos 🙏
