Yesterday, my dad, my best friend and my favorite person in the world, passed away. I am who I am because of my dad. He was the most intelligent, hard working man I’ve ever known. I have my strong work ethic because of him. My dad spoke 8 languages and was a classical pianist. He was so talented yet so humble. My dad loved teaching and helping people. He loved the church and was the head of his church’s choir too. He lived his life by the words of Christ. Please remember my family in prayer during this difficult time. 🙏🏻

Fourteen years ago today, my amazing, funny, eccentric, loving and perfect Dad Clifford Jenkyns passed away. He brought a bright light and happiness to everyone he met, a man of faith, with a crazy sense of humour. Donovan Johnson was bright light in this world. As soon as he flashed his trademark smile, he left you no choice but to do the same. He was full of joy, jokes, love and loyalty. He was grateful for the opportunities in his life and proud when he made the most of them. He was a role model to my boys and he loved them whole heartedly. He was part of our family. He battled Leukemia with a brave and gracious heart and fought so hard to be here for his family, especially his son. I loved Donovan and I have peace knowing he knew that. I’m grateful for my purpose in this profession, to impact young people and make sure they know how deeply they are loved and believed in. Rest in peace, DonJohn. I will love you forever.

I am heartbroken to hear that as of last night, my friend Shawn Clark has passed away. Shawn was not only an amazing coach that poured into the lives of hundreds of players at App State Football and programs across the country, but he was an incredible friend, husband, and father to his two children. Above all, he was a man of strong faith who loved Jesus. I can’t wait to see my friend again in heaven. Please pray for the Clark family and that God would give them peace and comfort.
