You could see some amazing things on Lawrence Welk. You could also see some really bad things. You never knew and that was part of the fun.

Love the Geritol sign in the background.

"Ghost-a Riders In-a the Sky!" I think that's the way Lawrence Welk would say the introduction.

Rawhide!

How about those maracas? Seriously!

Stan Jones wrote “Ghost Riders in the Sky” in 1948. After Monroe’s 1949 hit, Gene Autry recorded it; Columbia retooled a film as *Riders in the Sky* so Autry sings it several times. Jones appears onscreen. Plot uses a dying prospector’s ghost-rider vision.

Cool! 👌🏻💯😎

C'est une belle ballade au galop...

What is that, the Lawrence Welk Show? I seem to remember that show being a big pusher of Geritol.

Brava! Every now and then the Lawrence Welk musicians—many extremely talented—surpassed themselves with a live performance that transcended the blandness of their usual fare for the Geritol set. This is one of those occasions.

Geritol: U.S. iron/vitamin brand (from “geriatric”). 1950 alcohol tonic sold for “tired blood”; ads claimed twice the iron of calf’s liver. TV staple. FTC fought the claims—most tiredness isn’t iron deficiency—and later fined the company.

Maracas man having the time of his life😎 Mostly boring but well produced shows...we watched in color every Sunday as a kid. This was a finer moment.

Wonder why they didn't show the female choir.

❤️🎶❤️

@rene_jude51025 your second wake-up call if you missed the first one 🤣

Nice!

Lawrence Welk's orchestra. Lawrence was from Strasburg, North Dakota.
