The H-1B program was founded on the LIE that American workers are not qualified enough. To be a conservative means to put American workers first and together. We will do that.

For too long, corporations have used the H-1B program to replace American workers with cheap foreign labor. I directed the U.S. Department of Labor to issue a report on how the program hurts Americans. It’s time that we finally put the American worker FIRST.

America First means putting AMERICAN workers first! Big corporations are firing American workers while replacing them with H-1B visa holders, many from India and China. My EXILE Act would END the H-1B visa program entirely. We have the talent right here in the United States. We should be investing in our own workforce, not importing from foreign countries.

"Employers prefer the H-1B workers because they can both be legally paid less than American workers, and secondly, they're controllable, they're indentured to the employer." Prof. Ron Hira explains how H-1B visas benefit employers and corporations, not American workers:

The Trump administration just proposed a massive new $100,000 fee on H-1B visas. The fee would apply to petitions for skilled foreign workers, including many already living in the United States. The move is designed to protect American workers and reduce abuse of the program. Another major step to put American jobs first.

JD Vance says the government should be focused on protecting American workers, their wages and their job opportunities. He argues that some corporations exploit the H-1B visa system to bring in foreign workers at lower wages, putting pressure on American employees. “We fight for American workers. We fight for their jobs. We fight for their wages. We fight for their dignity.” Vance says the administration wants to tighten the rules and is calling on Congress to help. The debate over H-1B visas and protecting American jobs continues.

🚨 HUGE WIN FOR AMERICAN WORKERS: Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling just suspended some of the largest IT outsourcing firms over H-1B fraud. Here is what the Trump administration is cracking down on: Companies laying off American workers and replacing them with cheaper foreign labor, with H-1B workers averaging 25 to 35 percent less pay. American workers being forced to train their own replacements just to get severance. Resumes and skills being misrepresented to get visas. Sonderling says the fraud has been systemic for years, and now a president and vice president are finally letting the Labor Department go after the companies that enabled it. The message to corporate America is simple: you are great American companies, so hire great American workers. Never believe the lie that Americans aren't good enough to build a future for Americans. America First is not a slogan. It is a crackdown.

H-1B Visas and American Tech Workers: A Response to Jeffrey Sachs In this brief commentary, Kevin Lynn, Executive Director of the Institute for Sound Public Policy and Founder of U.S. Tech Workers, challenges economist Jeffrey Sachs' perspectives on America's economic divide. Lynn argues that contrary to Sachs' view that education access and "upskilling" are the primary barriers for American workers, the real issue is displacement of qualified American tech professionals through visa programs like H-1B, L-1, and STEM OPT. Drawing on both statistical evidence and first-hand accounts from displaced workers, Lynn makes the case that these programs artificially suppress wages and create barriers for American STEM professionals despite their qualifications. 🚨 Sonderling: H-1B abuse has come on the backs of AMERICAN WORKERS. Secretary Keith Sonderling: “American workers are the greatest and best in the world. And they absolutely have the skills to take these jobs.” “If you can suppress wages and pay 25 to 35 percent less wages by bringing in foreign workers, companies have abused that, and they have abused that on the back of American workers.”

“You’d be hard-pressed to design a worse system.” —- Ron Hira on the H-1B visa program. Corporations don’t hire H-1Bs to fill real shortages. “They hire them because guest workers have fewer rights, can be paid less, and are easier to control.” It’s a no-brainer for companies. Sold as a merit-based program for the “best and brightest.” Delivered as a cheap, controllable labor arbitrage tool. “It has nothing to do with merit or competence. And it’s not the best and brightest. These are ordinary skilled workers.” America First means American workers first. Time to fix this rigged system. Secretary Marco Rubio Donald J. Trump Senator Eric Schmitt Brenda Kearns McClintock for Congress American Moment

We have no obligation to let corporations abuse our immigration system to undercut American wages and replace American workers with foreign labor. The H-1B program has gone so far off track that it’s time to abolish it outright.

JD Vance is taking aim at what he describes as abuse of the H-1B visa system. He argues that some corporations use the program to undercut American workers’ wages and replace them with foreign workers. “Everybody understands the game that is being played.” Vance says the focus should be on protecting American workers and ensuring the visa system is being used as intended.
