I was walking up Elgin St. this afternoon and three of these protesters walked to toward me, taking up the whole sidewalk. Given that I have a right to walk on the sidewalk too, I didn't make way. I had to stop walking because the young man I was facing didn't move. He then accused me of "Doing it on purpose." To which I answered "I am walking on the sidewalk." This was not near enough to the police station to make anyone think I was doing anything but going somewhere. Basic sidewalk etiquette is to walk on the right, and give way to someone coming the other way if you're taking up the whole sidewalk. I was walking on the right side of the sidewalk, they were spread out across the whole sidewalk. The young man who accosted me should have given way, instead of expecting me to jump out of his way because they refuse to follow basic etiquette. Where do they get this entitlement and anger?
