This movie taught me lesbianism.
The first time I watched this movie, I thought it was a cute romance, so I was a little disappointed and thought, "Oh, it's okay." Then I rewatched it, seeing it for what it is—a dramatic thriller—and this movie is a masterpiece! Absolute cinema! The plot twists are incredible.
Park Chan-wook makes films that are grotesque yet beautiful—turning violence and obsession into something unsettling, but strangely poetic.
