I drive on the shoulder all the time, completely guilt-free, because I know I'm actually helping relieve the congestion behind me. I used to think like everyone else, than I read this book, and it made me re-consider all the pavement being underutilized, which would help traffic run better if only more people thought like me

There is no sweeter civilian assertion of law and order than drifting into the shoulder to block line cutters.

I do that shit all the time... I will put half my car in the shoulder and dare the fuckers to go off road if they wanna cut the line so badly.

He isnt wrong 90% of the time, but the 10% of the time when people use it for emergencies and someone dies it'll be on him....add on the very real risk of an insane person willing to shoot you for blocking the lane and it just isnt worth it.

I was in a bad traffic due to an serious accident. People started driving on shoulder to get to the next exit. First responders then couldn’t get to the accident and the person was in critical condition. Stay outta the damn break down lane people.
