i'd say best time is Oct to March - if you want to feel winter (no snow but cold) then Oct to late Jan, and if you want moderate weather (before summer but after the cold winter) then Feb/March after March it gets hot and then from May it's monsoon (dangerous mudslides) yes, I can host you! as long as you're cool sleeping on a mattress on the floor 😅 still haven't bought enough beds. otherwise I can recommend some good hotels

It's not just india in a lot of cultures they live with elders. Retirement homes provide care which is difficult for urban family. But they also known for abuses & dumping ground of elders. In misogynist traditions housewife is burden for this responsibility along with others.

Yeah, North East is the best. Had visited Assam and Meghalaya couple of years ago, and it was the best place.
