The HYTOPIA community has zero players 💀

Current community is primarily investors. Not actual gamers. The game client has to be clean and 10x better than current MC vanilla/modded clients which is just not true yet. The closed beta is great and I am happy we can finally start seeing the progress but it’s not mainstream ready. Until the client is completed and we have a revolutionary playable experience emerge on the platform we cannot expect players to come.

Great take, Kodi. More gamers playing the game should speed up the process of getting there.

You're doing a great job with your streams, actually playing the game and showcasing the developments. From what I've seen it's just nowhere near ready. No hate. Plus it's not just Hytopia, it's with all web3 games. No exceptions. Yet.

More passionate beta testers from inside the community would def help with hunting bugs and giving feedback to the devs. I think that's the case for a lot of crypto games yeah - Hytopia is def not the only one. Ty for the feedback, jeffrey!

Hard to acquire users from Minecraft when they are young kids and very sticky users and Microsoft led Need interesting content

Only a portion of those 300M copies sold are young kids. Lots of people who embrace crypto rn have grown up with Minecraft. I will try my best to contribute to better content and onboard some of them.

That’s a feature not a bug. New products need to learn from early testers and users and prepare before you turn on the marketing engine and focus on growth

I think that’s a very honest post. I do think a bunch of us are still sitting on the sidelines for a couple reasons… I went to go play, but in order to install the Beta on my Mac, I need to do what’s in the image below. Friction. Requiring Minecraft feels kinda meh. I believe the perception is we were expecting an independent experience that is HYTOPIA. I can also understand that people may feel like at this stage it’s just like playing one of two visually-lackluster Minecraft games. I def’ think we need tons more players, but IMO, those are two reasons some of us are still on the bench. I am personally wanting, and waiting, to see a Minecraft-independent HYTOPIA.

Gamers don’t like nfts right now. Also the beta is not that good so I logged in once but there is no reason to play this. The gamers will come if we have a game without Minecraft client + games that are fun 🤝 then maybe @XBorgHQ can help to onboard gamers too

@XBorgHQ I partially agree. It is probably not the time yet to target the mass Minecraft audience. But there are plenty of passionate Minecraft players in the crypto space. I did a poor job of making this project aware of them until now.
